The 32nd Annual Celebrate Gaithersburg Festival will draw an entire community to Gaithersburg's historic city center. The one-day event is scheduled for Sunday, June 8, 2014, and will include multiple stages of live entertainment, food, and themed activity areas for all ages and interests.
Popular bluegrass band Seldom Scene will take center stage highlighting a day of music, food, arts, crafts and amusements in and around the intersection of Diamond and Summit Avenues. The festival is open from Noon to 5 PM.
It all starts at noon with a very special welcome ceremony followed by the announcement of Gaithersburg's Distinguished Citizen, Outstanding Organization and Distinguished Friend, presented each year by the Gaithersburg Mayor and City Council.
Want some great street food? Your taste buds can explore the world without leaving your own backyard as you sample amazing fare from unique food trucks and carts. Dogfish Head Ale House will set up in the main stage area to serve their famous craft brewed beers, as well as some tasty signature menu items.
Throughout the festival you'll find local and international artisans, crafters and importers selling one-of-a-kind hand crafted treasures. There will also be dozens of vendors offering information and resources for Montgomery County residents.
Free shuttle service is available to and from satellite parking at Lakeforest Shopping Center. Additional parking is available at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, less than a quarter mile from the festival area.
Please note that no alcohol, skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles, or pets are allowed at the event.
